To have IM's read or responded to, you pretty much need to be a paying member. Even when I was a paying member, it never worked for me. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

They made IM more difficult, less reliable, but always responsive to taking your points. It works for me WHEN I do these two things: 1) click on the ballon with the ... located in tab bar at the top of the page. Flip the switch to 'On IM'. 2) Open the IM app from the IM icon at the page top right. If the app doesn't open you might have an ad blocker turned on and will need to add an exception. Good luck!

girl IM is NOT free. It costs you 10 points to send a page and as far as I know it costs another 10 points for someone to answer it.

I have been here, on and off, since like 2009 and even then, IM was not really working; meaning, i could get messages but could not answer them, or the other way around... IM sucks ánd eat your points too!

Girl nothing here is free. As far as IMs go, it costs 10 points to send and I am lead to believe 10 points to answer. So if your not getting any responses, that might be why. Your comment has been denied due to the following reason: Banned Topics (hate/weapons/under age). Feel free to submit a new comment. This is just an example of the incompetence of this site - no wonder members are leaving in their droves.

When using the IM we do the same thing as mrmindme and it seems to work for the most part. We have found that when we finally are able to chat to a standard members, their session is limited to about 15 messages each. Then "poof" they are gone. We chalked up some to not interested in what we do but others when we are able to chat again say we disappeared as well and we pick up the chat for a few more messages before that freezes as well.
