Number 10

Hello kinksters, I trust you all had a lovely Thanksgiving. Now that that's out of the way, it's on to the delights of Christmas. I usually make mountains of cookies for friends, family and co-workers. I try to make 10 different types, but I'm stymied on my last one. Any thoughts? What's your favorite cookie?

I make these:

1. Chocolate Fudge
2. Maple Walnut Fudge
3. Peanut Butter Blossoms
4. Magic Cookie Bars
5. Oatmeal Toffee Chip
6. Nut Cups
7. Gingerbread Men
8. Thumbprint Butter Cookies with Raspberry Jam
9. Pecan Cookies
10.???

G'day Rayne. One of my favourites is the ANZAC biscuit. It's fairly basic but very tasty and very moorish and great with either a hot drink or even a nice ice cold milk. A warning though is that they have nuts in them so those with allergies need to be careful.

softrayne replies on 11/27/2020 12:58 pm:
I just googles the recipe, and those sound delicious!! My only concern is that I have cookie with oatmeal, and the magic cookie bars have coconut already. Maybe a cranberry orange shortbread?

Snickerdoodles

softrayne replies on 11/27/2020 2:53 pm:
Hi wk14, I'll take it under advisement, but snickerdoodles are not my favorite. *L* Although I might want to go that route so I don't eat them all.

Spritzer cookies

softrayne replies on 11/28/2020 10:02 am:
Hi Max, I checked out the recipe, but for me, they seem a little...blah, even though they are traditional Christmas cookies, but thank you for the input

Oh wait, if you can make them, for the season some Pfeffernüsse (Pfeffernuss)

Ok, so I googled a recipe for these, but with the cardamon and molasses, they seem to similar to the gingerbread cookies.

Peanut Butter Cup cookies? Is there any cookie in the world better than those?

Simple to make too. Use your favorite peanut butter cookie recipe and merely add in a healthy portion of chocolate chips.

Hello Meister. I am always a fan of peanut butter and chocolate, but since I'm already making the peanut butter cookies with the Hershey kisses, this would be redundant I'm thinking. Although I did see a recipe for truffles made with peanut butter and butterfingers mixed on the inside, covered in chocolate, it looked so good I think I had a little orgasm just reading the recipe.

Perhaps you chose to exclude brownies, as they fit under an "essential food group" that should be present year round.. Similarly, my wondering why "rice Krispy" bars wasn't on the list is probably due to the same categorization. Then, once you've had red velvet cookies, they may make your list in future years, just for the frosting.. I think someone should make the cookies and put the frosting in a bowl so you can dip the cookie for each bite.. Next, Oatmeal from the Colorado Cache cookbook (basically, they are oatmeal raisin cookies where you put the eggs and vanilla together in a cup and soak all the raisins in there with them for a few hours before you actually make the cookies.) .. Next to last: Carrot cake cookies, which would be illegal except the carrots save them from the Joy police.. And, my last comment (yay): it is cruel and unusual punishment to mention Macadamia nut cookies with white chocolate chips when the reader has no access to such.

softrayne replies on 11/28/2020 10:09 am:
Hi tramp, yes brownies and rice krispy treat are yummy, but more of an "everyday" kind of treat. I'm not sure that side dishes of frosting for the red velvet would travel well, so I'm going to have to put those in the "not this year" category *L* I am making an oatmeal toffee chip, so the oatmeal raisin would be redundant, but I do like the idea of soaking the raisins, that seems like a good idea. Carrot cake-yumm, carrot cake cookies? Well, I don't see why not, but I'm thinking the frosting issue would again arise. If I end up going with the white chocolate macadamia nut, I'll send you some

Homemade chocolate chip cookies. I'll do anything for them !

softrayne replies on 11/28/2020 10:03 am:
Hi oldiron, for me, chocolate chip cookies are just something one bakes on a random Tuesday, not a special holiday cookie. Although, if you're willing to do ANYTHING for them, I may reconsider

I love everyone who has chocolate, I saw that someone asked for images of their culinary art, I will ask them to send me some on request ...

softrayne replies on 11/28/2020 11:13 am:
Hi Arkangel, once I've baked all 800 cookies, and have them partially packaged in their Christmas boxes, I will post a picture. I'm thinking either the white chocolate macadamia nut or those orange chocolate cookies sound delish too.
